Opportunities for Students

学生课程

We provide opportunities for Catholic high school students to deepen their faith and expand their knowledge through courses and workshops.

野马U 远程课程 offers juniors and seniors at participating Catholic high schools the opportunity to take online on-demand courses taught by Mount Mercy instructors.

Students receive Mount Mercy credit for their courses. A range of topics are available to students including courses in nursing, 教育, 业务, 科学, 和宗教.

野马U also offers dual enrollment courses. 的se classes are taught by Catholic high school teachers in partnership with Mount Mercy. Students receive high school credit and Mount Mercy credit.

Teaching a dual enrollment course means high school teachers go above and beyond their contractual requirements. To show appreciation for these highly motivated teachers, 野马U offers a competitive pay matrix that increases teacher pay based on the total number of dual enrollment students taught.

野马U has a collaborative relationship with dual enrollment teachers. 这包括:

• Assistance with course syllabus creation
• Professional development opportunities
• Increased use of open 教育al resources

Workshops for Students

Other opportunities we provide for high school students include:

• 我们的 Catholic High School Leadership Institute offers juniors at participating Catholic high schools the chance to develop student leadership skills and serve the community during the summer.
• 火花 is a summer workshop providing high school students from participating Catholic schools the opportunity to develop apologetic and evangelistic skills to strengthen their Catholic faith and to better serve/lead their parish and school communities. 的 workshop will present Catholic teaching on chosen topics as well as opportunities for students to learn how to defend their faith.

的 Catholic School Teachers Academy is a collaboration between Mount Mercy’s 的ology Program and Education Department to increase the number of teachers for K-12 Catholic schools.
